Why I like to write (but also hate it sometimes)

For as long as I know, writing is always a part of me. That does not mean I do it every day or enjoy it every single time (in fact, sometimes I wondered why I needed to torture myself with no obvious gain!), but writing always pulls me back, and it is the easiest and the most convenient way to express my thoughts freely. I write dairy from time to time, but what I commit every week is writing movie reviews. It’s an excellent way to share my love for movies. Gradually, I began to realize I want to write as a career too, and am open to all kinds of writing (though my ultimate goals are creative writing and historical biographies).

I began to send some articles to the newspapers and applied for writing jobs. It is not easy, and I doubt myself all the time. Especially after failing again and again. While sinking in a puddle of despair, I suddenly realized,

"Hey, I write because I like to! I am not doing it for anyone else!"

What I want to say is, if you love something, go for it! Yes, it is difficult, and sometimes we are lost in a sea of negativity, but never forget the joy that starts it all. Keep open and keep learning!
